What happens when a powerhouse vocalist, Bea Miller, meets a legendary DJ, Zedd... an automatic hit! Perfectly timed to play at one of the biggest stages, Lalapalooza!
Why are we talking about music on a jewelry blog? Oh yeah! Because we created all the jewelry that went on stage with Bea! Here's the story of how it happened.
One of the VidaKush owners' best friends, Jinju Lee, is a talented creative and also happens to be Bea Miller's stylist. Jinju has been working with Bea for a while, and Bea has worn our pieces before. (Check out the blog post here.) This time, she asked if we could bring her vision to life for Bea's performance, and of course, we said yes! Together, we crafted a custom jewelry collaboration that made waves at Lollapalooza this year.
Usually, when a stylist works with us, the process stays between the stylist and us, with the talent in the background. This experience was different because Bea actually came to the office herself and was a part of the creative process. Her hands-on approach was a breath of fresh air, as we got to see her interest in different pieces in real-time and her eagerness to share her input on her look. Seeing her excitement as she selected the jewelry was such a cool experience for us, and we are grateful she made the time.
For her performance with Zedd, where they performed their hit "Out of Time," the look had to be just right. We started with a statement clock necklace – the perfect nod to the song's title. To complement her detailed skirt and matching tight top bedazzled with a bold "B," we designed a custom choker with a matching "B" pendant and chain that sat at the base of her neck.
The finishing touch? A couple of belly chains, including our Cubic Pearl Belly Chain, to fill the space between her skirt and top, adding that extra layer of sparkle. Jinju worked her styling magic with additional accessories, and the result was a show-stopping ensemble that perfectly matched Bea's energy and style.
The Lollapalooza performance was a hit, and we’re so grateful to have been part of this unforgettable moment. A huge thank you to Bea Miller for bringing our vision to life on stage, and to Jinju Lee for making the connection. We are so excited for what's to come!
