Coachella 2026 was a defining moment for us.
Across two unforgettable weekends with headliners Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G, we found ourselves part of something big...huge!
VidaKush contributed to the costume design for Karol G’s dancers, a project that pushed our craftsmanship onto one of the world’s most iconic stages. Beyond the design and craftsmanship, this performance also marked something bigger. Karol G made history as the first Latina woman to headline Coachella. That moment carries weight, not just for the Latin community, but for culture as a whole. To have even a small part in that history is something we don’t take lightly.
This opportunity came through the one and only Ann-Marie Hoang, longtime best friend of VidaKush owner Rhianna Cooper. Ann-Marie’s work is known for its precision and detail, bringing us into her world. We had to step up in every way, not only because this performance was of a huge scale, but it was also choreographed by the legendary Parris Goebel. Meaning every detail of all the outfits had to be secure and strong. The details had to translate in motion and be seen from the back of the crowd.
The performance unfolded in four distinct environments, each with its own identity.
The opening cave scene was grounded in earth tones, cave scenery, with studded and fur texture. For this moment, we created a rhinestone-studded brown bandana that you can see to the right in the below photo next to Karol. As well as a hand-knotted knitted skirt made with sparkling rope to bring movement and dimension to the stage for the boys to shine too. Although we couldn't find photos of this one, we can confirm it was on stage.

The transition into the jungle and water sequence shifted everything into metallic, silver, and reflective. In collaboration with Firme Atelier, we produced beaded skirts worn over the silver metallic shorts. These pieces consisted on 88 pieces of crystal strips attached all the way around the waist, taking a full week of production across both teams. The final result was fabulous, catching every twinkle in the light with Parris's intense choreography. Perfect for capturing the attention of everyone in the crowd.

One of the most striking visual moments came with the introduction of four dancers pouring water over Karol G. For this scene, we designed custom crystal headpieces, built with cascading strands to mimic hair and give movement. These were completed under tight timing, finished just in time for rehearsal, and ultimately captured in a beautiful way on screen that created a cinematic masterpiece. Thank you camera man!

The last element we created for this act were the pearl and ball chain pocket chains to add to the boys look. Adding movement and dimension, Ann-Marie doesn't forget one detail.

The final act moved into a full celebration with colorful, expressive, and rooted in Latin culture. Each dancer’s look carried its own identity, and somehow Ann-Marie makes each one a shining star. For these scene, our responsibility as accessory makers became greater.
One of the standout pieces from this final scene was the coral halter top. An entirely handmade design built from sixteen strands of beaded coral, all strung together to create a sculpted, scalloped shape. The finished piece weighed close to 30 pounds, yet on stage, it read as completely effortless. We also created a matching coral belt to accompany it, adding another layer of depth to the look. Ann-Marie styled the piece with a beautiful flower detail tucked into the corner, bringing a softness that balanced the weight and structure of the design. And to the dancer who wore it—we owe you everything, because you would never know what it took to carry that moment. We even had 7-year-old Sonny test it out during the process, just to make sure the structure held and the piece could truly be worn. It was bold, it was unforgettable, and it became one of the defining looks of weekend one.

We created a five-layer lapis belt, and a skirt with sprayed painted wooden beads in the colors of the Colombian flag. Custom keychains representing Brazil, Colombia, and Puerto Rico. A reworked yellow hat detailed with a belt, crystals, safety pins, and chain. A belt spelling out the word “Latina” made with hand-molded clay. Along with 15 necklaces that were all different with similar pearl and spike motifs. These details completed the story and will be held with Karol's team potentially to be used for her upcoming World Tour! We will definitely be on the lookout for that.

Our team at the VidaKush office are the hands that made all of this happen. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard on bringing these ideas to fruition while still keeping up with everyday business tasks.
We’re incredibly grateful to have contributed to a performance of this scale and meaning. If you caught the livestream, you may have spotted some of these pieces in motion—we’ve attached some behind the scene photos to better incapsulate our story for you.

At VidaKush, that same level of intention exists in everything we do. Whether it’s a global stage or our showroom, the process remains personal, choosing elements, building pieces, and creating something that feels entirely your own.
Thank you for being part of it. Come see us at our 3rd St showroom any time.
